Baltusrol is a private golf club located in Springfield, New Jersey. The club has a rich history and is known for its picturesque landscape and challenging golf courses. The original 450-acre property was purchased by Louis Keller, the publisher of the New York Social Register, in 1895. Keller hired renowned golf course architect A.W. Tillinghast to design the club’s first course, and the result was the acclaimed “Old Course” at Baltusrol.
The Old Course quickly gained notoriety and hosted its first major championship, the U.S. Women’s Amateur, in 1901. Since then, Baltusrol has hosted numerous major championships including the U.S. Open, the U.S. Women’s Open, and the PGA Championship. The club has also been home to the U.S. Amateur and many other high-profile golf events.
Baltusrol offers two championship courses, the Lower Course and the Upper Course.
